MORE MALAYS DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM UMNO AS NAJIB INTERFERES.

The big boys in UMNO (actually small fish controlled by Najib) are getting worried about his bad influence in UMNO.

There is a rejection of Najib from a substantial number  of UMNO members, although this is not openly acknowledged and shown for fear of UMNO's famous reprisals, and  Khairy Jamaluddin takes pot shots from a safe distance whilst always giving himself an escape route as even he is afraid of how big the reprisals could mean in UMNO when you say "Boo" to a goose.
Playing very safe can get seriously burnt

Sungei Kandis showed the UMNO "Leadership" if there are any real leaders  now, how serious the Najib factor is to their party and its strength.

From Johari Abdul Gani's outright criticism of allowing Najib to campaign in Sungei Kandis to Annuar Musa's more forthright criticism referring Najib as "Baggage the party could ill afford to bear", to Khalid Nordin's remarks that it was "Najib on trial and not UMNO" and went on further to say,  "it mirrored what UMNO used to be, and still is, to a certain extent".

"The feudal values are still dominant in UMNO until it has hindered our progress to reform and move for the better. There is no sense of 'shame' in the feudal landscape." he said and he was very correct.

He was further quoted as having said "people were not held accountable because of the favours he or she gave out when he or she was in power. This narrative must go and be replaced by the real feeling of 'shame' against wrongdoings and injustice."

Indeed that is the case and Malays are getting fed up of this behaviour in UMNO and whilst Khairy Jamaluddin plays safe  and is rather more of a fence sitter than a real advocate for change there does not seem to be in UMNO any serious person who is bent on putting the party right.

The videos circulating on the proceedings at the Dewan Rakyat show UMNO members as seriously going all out to stop any exposure of wrong doing on the part of the government that Najib led.
Campaigning in Sungei Kandis

One ardent UMNO wanita supporter was aghast at the way they do not allow the alleged misdeeds  in Parliament by just interrupting Guan Eng for each sentence he makes and asking him to withdraw words even she did not hear him use.

"If Guan Eng says, "they are thieves then he has also said that a full inquiry will be held, a public inquiry, so what is the big hang up if you did not steal, wait and prove him wrong, but these fellows look like they are guilty by their behaviour alone and I am ashamed, not only of them but of the leadership and myself for being led by such irresponsible people whom I have supported all this while. It seems everything said about Najib is true, we believed everything about Rosmah but we thought Najib was okay, no more for me now!" she said.

It surfaced at Sungei Kandis, with Malays and mostly from UMNO asking, "who is leading the party today, Zahid or Najib?"

"Why is he here? Does he not know it will do more harm than good to our campaign?"

These important voices of the grassroots and supporters of UMNO Sungei Kandis fell on deaf ears, they saw an UMNO with a false front and did not want too much of that.

Very appropriate criticism of UMNO's position with Najib
Probably Khalid Nordin was the bravest of them all with his language, his criticism and his "mae culpa", but Ahmad Zahid's call not to take these grievances out in the open only shows that he believes by sweeping it under the carpet will solve the problem, an ostrich for sure.

There is now clearly a group in UMNO that realises the real problems that besiege the party, it is not the government but those in the party itself and Najib is the biggie with Zahid going after him and treating him as  demi-god, members are seeing him as more of a puppet than a President, and they do not want Najib calling the shots as that is what they now claim is happening, they want Najib out for good, not even as a member if possible.

Perceived to be a Najib Puppet
The noise has got a bit louder since Khalid Nordin's statement, former Melaka Chief Minister RahimThamby Cik has asked UMNO to remove Najib from the party, whilst Zainuddin Maidin said. "Najib Abdul Razak is a manifestation of the party's disappointment with his successor Ahmad Zahid Hamidi."

It took so long for a person, not an ordinary person but a politician to recognise what the ordinary folk in Sungai Kandis had already known weeks ago. Zainuddin has jsut come to realisation.

Now according to an UMNO veteran from Masjid Tanah in Melaka  "Zahid seems to be part of Najib's baggage can't cut loose," this elderly gentleman said he was surprised that "Anuar Musa went crawling back to Najib's house to explain his position, one time it looked like he woke up, and at the other it looked like Zahid put him back in place and I am sure somebody else got Zahid to act and this is UMNO today, sad very sad, poor leadership, weak leaders, compromised people."

IS CHINA PREPARING A SURPRISE PACKAGE FOR TUN Dr. MAHATHIR?

HI THAT'S ME FEI LOH JHO
THE PRIZED PANDA

No Panda's of the normal kind for Mahathir - fei loh jho possibly

Tun Dr. Mahathir is to visit China next week and in the run up to that visit we have received unconfirmed reports that the rogue fugitive Jho Loh - business associate of  Najib Tun Razak and a close family friend of the Najib Razak family has been arrested according to China Press.

Strange it is been some time  and the Police do not seem to have received any confirmation about the arrest, neither has Wisma Putra or for that matter even the foreign press has not come out with any updates on this issue.

Even more strangely  Xin Hua the official Chinese News agency has remained quiet not commenting on the news and so to the reputable South China Morning Post and could this be deliberate. Most papers in China and Hong Kong are tight lipped on this news report which if true will spark international attention. Why this Deafening Silence.

So what is really up?

Could China have really arrested Jho Low and have decided to keep quiet about it for the time being?

And if that is the case why?

Well if he is in China, the Chinese authorities will get him without too much trouble, that is no problem to them regardless that China is such a huge country, he will not be able to hide from the authorities, if they really want to get him, they'd do so really quick.

The Chinese will be able to round up Jho the minute they say they want him within days if not hours.\
Jho Low is thought to be in China and the probability of him being there is very high indeed so why aren't the Chinese getting him?

Very honestly because at this very moment they have no reason to, but they may have when Tun Dr. Mahathir visits China next week.

So there is every probability that he has been arrested and is being kept till Tun Mahathir visits China.

The Chinese have a tradition of giving their friends Pandas, will they give Mahathir the priced panda - Jho Low to Mahathir Moamed?

Well very honestly that can't be discounted, there is every possibility it may be done but....

They may use this priced panda as bargaining chip for the ECRL, and the many other expensive Chinese projects, but if they try that they are underestimating Tun Dr. Mahathir, he'll not cave in and in fact it will be counter productive to China Malaysia ties.

They may on the other hand graciously give this priced panda  to Dr. Mahathir as a goodwill gesture at the beginning of the meeting, announcing officially over the media that he has been arrested and that the authorities will be sending him back to Malaysia as soon as the formalities are complete.

We must remember that we do not have an extradition treaty with China and the resultant due process may have to take its course and that could be very  long drawn, but in China and for China this can be overcome, the Chinese are very practical they can adjust the time span depending on what is at the end of the bargain.

If things go well they could add a catalyst to the whole situation and send Jho Lo packing on the  plane immediately before or after or for that matter in the cargo hold of the same plane bringing Mahathir to Malaysia. That will be the Panda that Mahathir will bring back.

If things do not go their way or if they can't reach a consensus of how to move forward especially with those projects which have already been signed they may delay the process of extradition even if they had announced it earlier blaming the due process and there is very little Malaysia can complain about as they the Chinese are fully aware of the Zakir Naik case and Malaysia.

In the case of Zakir Naik there is in place an extradition treaty that Malaysia has with India and refusal to extradite Zakir Naik blaming due process or for that matter other reasons may give China the best excuse to hold on to Jho Lo as China has policies on the protection of overseas Chinese and their rights and they may use it saying that is what is delaying the process.

They may even use the Zakir Naik case to argue their point of the delay, telling Malaysia that even though we have a treaty in place it is taking so long, thus justifying their delay.

Another reason  China may to want to hold back is the fear of how much does Jho Low know about the Chinese connection with Najib and his deals with China if any, any spilling of the beans  may compromise the integrity of China, some of its leaders  and the nation as a whole, after all Jho Low is close to the Najibs and maybe privy to this information.

I am more inclined though to think that the Chinese will come upfront and make the offer if they have Jho Low, they will prefer a friend in Tun Dr. Mahathir rather than an enemy, they know that he does not mince his words and if they anger him he will show them that even without them  Malaysia can prosper.

The Chinese will not underestimate the intelligence of Mahathir he will see through their plans and schemes if there is any, but if there's none and they come upfront really eager to serve and work together with Malaysia and acknowledge any wrongdoings in previous contracts they can expect a mutually rewarding future relationship with the PRC.

Of course giving us the right Panda, the priced Panda  this time will go a long way too.

UMNO DISINTERGRATES AS 3RD FORCE PUSHES ITS AGENDA

Is he still calling the shots?
UMNO is in deep crisis, the oligarchy that helped the Najib backed Ahmad Zahid  Hamidi to become the President are finding it difficult to maintain their grip as the more intelligent members of the party are waging a war to take Najib out of the limelight and for him to  stop issuing policy statements, they do not want Najib around at all, so it seems, as they see him as a huge liability to the party especially with the possible criminal cases coming up against him and the mounting evidence against him being made readily available both nationally and internationally.

Is he really in control
According to a Negri Sembilan UMNO youth member who has links with some of the new breed in UMNO it is reported that the move to appoint Apandi into the Supreme Council was the work of Najib whose advice the President, Zahid Hamiddi still  solicits rather frequently.

In this case it was cast upon him to appoint Apandi and when the move backfired from both within and without UMNO,  Apandi withdrew after first likening  his return to the party to a fish returning to its spawning grounds.

Following his appointment  there was an uproar not only in UMNO but also in the alternate media, however initially Apandi stood his ground  saying "I am now able to exercise my right to associate with a party (UMNO)" with whom he was a member and claimed he left after being admitted to the Bar."

A pandi,  even went on further to claim it was "an honour to be appointed", and that he would help the party in its efforts to rejuvenate itself  but  suddenly did a 360 degree turn and declined the offer saying,  "After thinking about this thoroughly and deeply, I think it's unreasonable for me to accept my appointment as an UMNO supreme council member."

Suddenly turned down Supreme council position in UMNO
"What plays in my mind is that my appointment will be mired by all sorts of negative perception that will be linked to whatever move and decision I made while I was a judge and the attorney-general," he said.

This decision came on the heels of Kedah's UMNO Youth Chief Shaiful Aazizy criticising  the move to appoint Apandi to the Supreme Council.

Shaiful Azizy said it was not an UMNO team,"committed to the transformation agenda" and will only drag UMNO down further in the public eye.

What is even more striking is;
Shaiful Azizy came out with a mei culpa saying, "the strategy to appoint the former attorney-general (Mohamed Apandi Ali) to the supreme council appears desperate and done without consideration. The public knows his role in previous scandals". That was indeed a damning statement.
Kedah State Youth Chief - Young guard shows his mettle

Khairy Jmaluddin described the appointment and the acceptance and then the fact that Apandi turned down the appointment as,  "disappointing" and "embarrassing"

In his tweet he said the "initial appointment was embarrassing," Khairy's statement is a  a clear indication that there are many in UMNO who know that this man Apandi is not only an embarrassment but also a liability because of his role in the Najib alleged scandals which are being pursued by the MACC.

Concerned UMNO seniors sees this as a 'journey  to disaster', "there is a third force now in UMNO", said my friend from Johor UMNO, "it is not a new force but now it has become the third force, it is equipped and has 'immense  resources.' it is directing the party towards looking after only its own selfish interests, and if Zahid does not check this soon, UMNO will be gone."

Taking pot shots at Zahid
These are concrete indications that there are  groups in UMNO who are willing to admit that there were mega scandals in UMNO and that Apandi was involved in them

The Youth Chief of Kedah seems to have hit the nail on the head so much so it seems to have  prompted Najib to come out openly to  assert his influence on the party again.

Although in the run up of the Presidential elections Zahid had promised the UMNO members that he would provide transparency in UMNO and allow the party to be criticized  his mentor and now ex-President Najib Razak has come out and seemingly hit at these critics, the timing at least seems to indicate so, saying, "any UMNO member who is not willing to die for the party must leave the party."

"Why should he make such statements at this time,  when the President himself is quiet,"  asked Daud (not his real name) from Johor UMNO. "We see it as serving his own interests and we feel the timing of this statement has a lot to do with Shaiful Aazizy's press statement. Many UMNO members especially from the Youth wings  support Shaiful's stand, that is the correct way to go, we wronged the people and suffer today, we want to show them that we can change, but with these kind of moves how can we?"

According to our sources, Najib's wrning to UMNO members came  following "Najib's utter disappointment" of Apandi turning down the position in the Supreme Council."

There is discontent in the Youth movement in Johor, Kedah, Selangor, Federal Territory and parts of Pahang especially on the behind the scene roles being played by Najib.

Sources tell us that there is a new movement taking shape within UMNO with the aim of removing the present oligarchy as the funds in UMNO have been frozen, they feel that with Najib's defence team delaying things it will take longer than usual to get a final judgement in the case.

These new guards  are hoping for the funds to remain frozen and untouchable, that way there will be ample opportunity to beat the system of money politics that is  so rampant in UMNO resulting in making  the removal of these powers thata possible task. "Cut the funds and they will lose."

STOP THIS BLOODY STUPID NONSENSE - LET TDM DO HIS JOB

PAKATAN HARAPAN LOGO USED FOR THE ELECTIONS
The electorate voted only one party and that was "Pakatan Harapan" there was no Hibiscus, no Rocket but we used the black eye of Anwar and believe me that was one of our biggest winning points and it was the only party we voted into power - "Pakatan Harapan." We could not use the harapan logo as the Registrar of societies illegally made it illegal so collectively the parties in PH agreed to this logo.

The one party PH that we voted into power
We had a common logo and we stood under the common logo as one.

Why then these divisions now?

Let the PM of the day, the man most responsible for getting us to Putrajaya do his job, it has only just begun and there are years of undoing to be done.

Rome was not built in a day so too will the rebuilding of Putrajaya as there is so much of change to be instituted.

Change is a must, it is a difficult process because there will be a lot of resistance to change.

Our past has left scars embedded into each and every one of us so much so even though we proclaim to be Malaysians we want to see our own kind up there.

Change has to be done at a pace, a pace the people can accept, why even now it seems we can't accept this change at this slow rate and that is why things get delayed because of us, we do not allow the people we chose to make decisions, every time they do it we question we criticise, we condemn and we nit pick. How are we to progress then?

There are 30 million Malaysians and if each one of gave an opinion of the way things are done it will take till Kingdom come to solve our problems.

Admit it, we still have this deep rooted Chinese, Malay and Indian in us and that is the major element we must change.

Mahathir Mohamed Claims Pakatan harapan Victory
This element of our Race is  precisely where this disgruntlement is coming from.

It was first how come a Chinese Finance Minister, now it is how come this DAP MP and that other MP has not been made a Minister, or why this small boy (only  9 years younger than the age at which the present  French President became Deputy Secretary General to the President of France, one of the four world powers and today at the age of 39 he assumed the French Presidency in  a country with more than 60 million people) could be made a full minister?

When are we going to discard our dinosaur mentality.

The Prime minister makes his choice of ministers in his cabinet, he is responsible to the people for the performance of the government, we can't dictate terms to him, then expect him  to perform if we decide who should be this minister or that minister or for that matter even a minister.

If we decide that, the PM can't be held responsible for the performance of the whole.

Our job is done we voted who we wanted in Parliamentnot who we wanted for PM, or DPM, or Finance Minister or even Defence Minister.

The people we voted into Parliament chose the PM and the PM in turn chooses his cabinet.

We must first realise that we require to do this to give the PM our fullest support, he chooses the people he thinks are most capable and believe me even to appease you people to a very great extent some others.

He needs to do the choosing,  it so that he can carry on with his work of governing and with critics and disgruntled politicians all around a very fine balancing act.

Very honestly I think he is doing a marvelous job, don't get side tracked by people with agendas both from within and without.

Let the PM do his job.

KHAIRY - HAS TO TAKE HIS CHANCES NOW OR........

THERE ISN'T A BETTER TIME THAN THIS FOR KHAIRY TO JOIN IN THE FRAY AND GO FOR PRESIDENCY OR CONDEMN HIMSELF TO POLITICAL LIMBO.

Will the Keris vanish if Zahid wins.

Khairy Jamaluddin the son in law of the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia could be starring at a permanent knock out of UMNO if he does not take his chances and join in the fray for race to the Presidency of the party.,
Fortune favours the brave - Is he Brave enough?

"Fortune only favours the brave" and this guy is trying to play his father in law's passive strategy, stay quiet, keep a  low profile and win the spoils that is what Badawi did in UMNO and despite backing Tengku Razaleigh in his bid to oust Mahathir he was the only one who survived that elections and came out a VP with the highest amount of votes.

Razaleigh then quit to form Semangat 46, and Badawi  from then on played and maintained a low profile only to begin making his voice heard once Anwar was sacked  becoming Deputy head of UMNO and eventually Deputy PM and PM when Mahathir resigned.

Now Razaleigh the born loser in UMNO or rather the man born to lose in UMNO is attempting a last bite at the Cherry.

The Kuli who was born to lose

Khairy must realise that much has changed since then, his father in law was easily moved aside, he was nothing but a stop gap PM and a stop gap UMNO head and Khairy will be lucky if he can achieve even that by trying this passive game today, much has changed not all UMNO members are
At Best an also ran
stupid, many intellectuals walk the corridors of UMNO observing and biding their time, they will serve when gentlemen lead.

Is Khairy a gentleman? At least even if it was late he was brave enough to openly declare that it was the decision to remain quiet and not warn Najib about Najib's on standing that cost he party the elections, the oldder generation and the UMNO Stupids chose to remain quiet even then and are all in  a state of denial to this day.

This is the Golden opportunity for Khairy to join in the fray, the "oldies" and not all mind you,  will go out to support Kuli,  then you'll have the "stupids" who will back Zahid and that will leave Khairy with the young  and the levelled headed who are dying to rid UMNO of the menace caused by the "Old" and "Stupid" schools from within UMNO, the type who believed the idiotic statements of their leaders when they said Kit Siang would become PM if UMNO lost, this window of opportunity is ipened only if Khairy himself is not one of the many stupids in UMNO>

There are the young turks  and although I am familiar with a few of these professionals from Johor and Melaka their support is most certainly not for the old or even for the stupid, they seem to have a strong influence behind the curtains of UMNO, they have foretold today's  UMNO predicament over and over again and worked tirelessly for it and I have written about it in  since the 2013 elections.

At the 2013elections they told me and I reported that the solid wall that BN and UMNO had in Johor was crumbling, during this elections they told me again and they said the loss will be significant and there is a huge possibility of Johor falling and it fell.

These are patriotic UMNO members, in fact prior to 2013 if you look at toffeesturn reports they even said they do not mind losing the elections and allowing Anwar to become PM, because that would give them the opportunity of purging UMNO of all these corrupt leaders at every level.

All these came to pass, and they are watching they want this old guard to go ahead and destroy themselves for  good before they come in with a "vengeance' to take it over>

"Khairy can be part of the solution if he is proactively involved and takes a firm stand now, talking after the failures like he did after the Malays tsunami is  of no use, it will only prove he is an opportunist with no regard for UMNO and the future of the Malays as is with Zahid., Razaleigh and the rest, till today even after all that exposure they still back Najib and term  all that is being exposed about him 'fitnah'  whichthey know the "stupid" part of the party will buy, they have no sense of responsibility or ownership, they  have been part of the problem and we see it very clearly now more clearly than ever before," said Daud the Johor UMNO member a professional from the private sector he only tells me to refer to him as Daud and that is the only name I know him by.

"We'll give Khairy Jsmaluddin the benefit of the doubt when he says, he regrets not having given Najib the real picture, even though we really think he is a coward, we like to think he is an intellectual although we have our doubts, we can work with him and give him all our support if he declares his stand to contest these two imbeciles right now, because right now UMNO requires a face the party is  familiar with and Khairy is such a person, if he is willing to commit and really come out to start anew to put the party straight we are with him, if he does not take this opportunity he will be deemed in the enemy camp and we are out to get him and the rest, now we have the time, as we know that after the scandals are all revealed, Najib and Rosmah jailed and more ex-UMNO ministers, including leaders from the various BN parties too suffer the same fate for corrupt practices we can move in and clean up the act with relative ease and rebuild a reputable UMNO,a party in which my father was founder member, a party my father travelled the country in a Morris Minor to tell the Malays then what UMNO was all about, a job he was so proud of having done although at the end of it he was a nobody but an ordinary member when Merdeka came.."

"We'd like to do it now and believe that Khairy can help UMNO and the Malays do it, but if he chooses to stay out he does so at his own peril,' said Daud.

In the run up to the 2018 elections I received many  comments some threatening others abusive from what was probably BN supporters.

The comments the blog received were that I was talking nonsense, were threats all from anonymous readers, except for one from the BN in Sabah.

Everything that the Johor young turks said prior to the elections were spot on, and now if Khairy loses this opportunity he will lose everything he has in UMNO for good, because after this they'll come out in full force to create a showdown and and go for every Zahid, Kuli and Hisham including Khairy if he is not willing to break ranks now and show that he is committed to change.

So this looks like Khairy Jamaluddin's last chance to make a career for himself in politics,  he will certainly not be wanted in Pribumi or PKR and the only avenue left to him maybe PAS or even probably the thought of forming his own party.

RAJA KITA SELAMAT BERTAKHTA

We sing in our National Anthem the Negara-ku;
Rahmat bahagia
Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita
Selamat bertakhta

Which when translated means:
May God bestow blessing and happiness
May our King have a successful reign.
Having said that let me remind all Malays that it is not Raja Melayu but Raja Malaysia, it is not Sultan Selangor Melayu but Sultan Selangor and so on and so forth.
The Royalty has log been looked up by the Malays as Raja Raja Melayu, but no according to our Constitution they are Our Royalty and that means mine as well, I am a Malaysian but not a Malay, and so when you insult the Royalty you insult me and other Malaysians not only the Malays.
The recent writings by Malays insulting the rulers has gone a bit too far, I realise we are a democracy and have the right to question almost anything in the country but let me warn you, to go about making allegations that may not be true opens those who do  so  to the possibility of being sued by the royalty or the state  if your allegations are false but woe betide you.

I think their Royal Majesties must take all these people who have insulted them to court and sue them, bring them to court and make them responsible for the statements they have made proving to the rest of Malaysians that they are not true and completely false.

Their  Majesties have a duty to do that to safeguard themselves,  the integrity of the office and  the name of the Royal Household  and to put a stop to these people especially the Malays who are beginning to belittle them. This must be done to stop them undermining the Monarchy.

We are a Constitutional Monarchy and the Institution of the Monarchy is so important in our Country. The Kings have a very important role to play in the country, therefore  the institution of the Monarchy must be respected, because the King and his brother rulers are the most respectful persons in the country as  they are the  the heads of  Islam in the country in their respective States and Islam is our official religion.
Now does that not make them respectable persons?

So especially to the Malays especially because you are Muslims and we are not Muslims, remember that the King and his sbrother rulers are our Raja Raja too.
I say don't anger us by making baseless insults on our King and the Sultans because they are not only Raja Raja Melayu who belong only to you  but they are our Raja Raja as well.

WHO IS TOMMY THOMAS?

WHY HAS HE  BECOME AN ISSUE?

Just blank out that name.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia
Thomas the Train???

Let's talk about the candidate for the position of Attorney General in Malaysia

Who decides to pick the candidate for the position in accordance with the law?

This appointment must be done in accordance with the Federal Constitution.

KEEP IN MIND THAT NO ONE AND ABSOLUTELY NO ONE, IS ABOVE THE FEDERAL CONSTITUTION.

THE ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS POSED ABOVE CAN BE FOUND BELOW:

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF MALAYSIA

The Attorney General is the principal legal adviser to the Government. His role and responsibilities are provided for in Article 145 of the Federal Constitution. Article 145 of the Federal Constitution provides:

(1) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong *shall, on the advice of the Prime Minister, appoint a person who is qualified to be a judge of the Federal Court to be the Attorney General for the Federation.

(2) It shall be the duty of the Attorney General to advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or the Cabinet or any Minister upon such legal matters, and to perform such other duties of a legal character, as may from time to time be referred or assigned to him by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or the Cabinet, and to discharge the functions conferred on him by or under this Constitution or any other written law.

(3) The Attorney General shall have power, exercisable at his discretion, to institute, conduct or discontinue any proceedings for an offence, other than proceedings before a Syariah court, a native court or a court-martial.

(3A) Federal law may confer on the Attorney General power to determine the courts in which or the venue at which any proceedings which he has power under Clause (3) to institute shall be instituted or to which such proceedings shall be transferred.

(4) In the performance of his duties the Attorney General shall have the right of audience in , and shall take precedence over any other person appearing before, any court or tribunal in the Federation.

(5) Subject to Clause (6), the Attorney General shall hold office during the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and may at any time resign his office and, unless he is a member of the Cabinet, shall receive such remuneration as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong may determine.

(6) The person holding the office of Attorney General immediately prior to the coming into operation of this Article shall continue to hold the office on terms and conditions not less favourable than those applicable to him immediately before such coming into operation and shall not be removed from office except on the like grounds and in the like manner as a judge of the Federal Court.

Please note the words in item (1) above; the word "*shall" is is used and it is important to note what that word means in this case;

*"when drafting a legal document, the term "shall" is used to indicate that something must be done, as opposed to the term "may" which simply means that something is allowed".

The term shall is used here and it simply means there is no choice and that the Yang di-Pertuan must on the advice of the Prime Minister appoint the  person the Prime Minister advises him to appoint, there is no reference to race or creed.

All conditions fulfilled the appointment must go on, no one  can introduce any other terms.

As far as Islamic law in Malaysia is concerned it is interesting to note what the Borneo Post reported some time ago;

"According to Malaysian jurist Zaiton Othman, contrary to the perception of many, Malaysia is not an Islamic country. The Federal Constitution of Malaysia provides that Islam is the religion of the Federation; but other religions may be practised in peace and harmony in any part of the Federation."

The Attorney General is not the person to advice the King on matters of Islamic law,  as is clearly implied in item (3) above  Matters of the Syriah courts are beyond his purview.

The Attorney General however will advise the Prime Minister and the King on the provisions of the Federal Constitution as may from time  to time be requested by either the King, the Prime Minister, or any Minister in the cabinet of Malaysia.

What is is of utmost importance is that the person who holds the position is qualified and capable and is appointed after taking into account the best interest of the country which is matter for the government fo the day to decide.
